Northern Transport Voices is TfN’s online research community, established in January 2023. The community brings together a diverse group of residents from all parts of the North to discuss transport in our region, and to take part in research activities gathering evidence and insights on transport users’ needs, attitudes, and behaviours. Members engage on an online platform where they can take part in quick polls, discussion forums, surveys, focus groups, and other types of activities. The evidence provided by the community is used to inform policy development, responses to consultations and calls for evidence, and advice provided to transport authorities and government. The evidence also supports the delivery of the North’s Strategic Transport Plan in a user-centred, place-based, and outcome-focused manner.
To date, Northern Transport Voices members have engaged with a wide range of topics – from electric vehicles, to parcel deliveries, and mobility hubs. Below are just some of the themes explored so far.
