SUMMARY:Transport for the North Audit and Governance Committee Consultation Call | 17 February\, 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Audit and Governance Committee purpose is to provide independent review and assurance to Members on control frameworks\, governance  and risk management. \nThe Committee is comprised of five members of the Transport for the North Board (not the Chair\, or Vice Chair) appointed by the Transport for the North Board; and three Independent members (to be recruited on the basis of relevant skills). A representative of Department for Transport will be invited to attend meetings. \nIt oversees financial reporting\, the Annual Governance Statement process and internal and external audit\, to ensure efficient and effective assurance arrangements are in place. \nThe Constitution places responsibility on the Audit and Governance Committee ‘to oversee the effectiveness of Transport for the North’s risk management arrangements’. \nAll committee meetings are open to the public (including the press) except to the extent that they are excluded whether during the whole or part of the proceedings. \nThis Consultation Call for the Audit and Governance Committee will take place on Friday 17 February 2023\, and will be live streamed via video conferencing.
