SUMMARY:Transport for the North Audit and Governance Committee | 10 June 2021
DESCRIPTION:It oversees financial reporting\, internal and external audits and the Annual Governance Statement process to ensure efficient and effective assurance arrangements are in place. \nThe purpose of the Audit and Governance Committee is to provide independent review and assurance to Members on governance\, risk management and control frameworks. \nThe Constitution places responsibility on the Audit and Governance Committee ‘to oversee the effectiveness of Transport for the North’s risk management arrangements. \nThe Audit and Governance Committee is comprised of five members of the Transport for the North Board (not the Chair\, or Vice Chair) appointed by the Transport for the North Board; and three Independent members (to be recruited on the basis of relevant skills). A representative of Department for Transport will be invited to attend meetings. \nAll committee meetings are open to the public (including the press) except to the extent that they are excluded whether during the whole or part of the proceedings. \nThis meeting of The Audit and Governance Committee on June 10\, 2021\, and will be live-streamed via video conferencing.
